Sant Pere de Lavern

Highlight • Religious Site

Sant Pere de Lavern is a neo-Romanesque style church, protected as a cultural asset of local interest, the work of architect Enric Sagnier. The church has a Latin cross plan with a single nave with two side chapels and a semicircular apse. The old rectory was demolished in 1995 to allow the construction of a new convent of Poor Clare nuns.

The church was rebuilt at the beginning of the 20th century on the remains of the original Romanesque church (dated to the year 917).

Monastery of San Sebastián de los Gorgs

Highlight • Religious Site

This Romanesque monastery was founded in the year 1030 in the old pre-Romanesque chapel of dels Gorgs, to which a bell tower was added during its renovation. Between 1977 and 1981 the cloister was restored, recovering its original appearance, and in a second phase, between 2000 and 2002 the bell tower was restored. A third restoration between 2010 and 2011 protected the cloister with a new roof.
