Baltic Sea Cliff Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Again and again a great impressive ride along the coast, with a view of the Baltic Sea. You can't describe it, you have to experience it. And no matter how often, the impressions change just as quickly as the coastline is constantly changing. Where else, apart from on the Baltic Sea, is there such a unique opportunity in Germany. Come and experience it, you won't regret it.

Cycle path through the Ribnitzer Großes Moor

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

This path, located directly behind the dune, leads almost like a trail from Neuhaus to Graal-Müritz. If you want, you can turn into the Ribnitzer Großes Moor and explore the wonderful forest paths. At the moor ponds you are very close to the origins of this area.

Wustrow Cliffs

Highlight • Natural Monument

The High Bank stretches over 3.2 km from the Wustrow pier to the Ahrenshoop border path on the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula.

The High Bank is a terminal moraine, formed by the Scandinavian ice sheet more than 10,000 years ago and shaped by the ocean surf. This continues to cause constant change in what is known as the active cliff. The annual coastal erosion can reach up to five meters. Nesting sand martins can be observed below the cliff in the high, steep escarpment. The high bank is ideal for hiking on foot or by bike, and on a clear day, you can even see the Danish mainland from here. The narrow footpath directly along the cliff offers a wide variety of scenery. It leads through small wooded areas, past sea buckthorn bushes and dog roses, the typical vegetation of the area.

Cliffs near Ahrenshoop

Highlight • Natural Monument

The cliffs near Ahrenshoop, also known as "Hohes Ufer" (High Shore), were formed during the Ice Age and continue to be shaped by wind and waves. They are particularly famous for their breathtaking views of the Baltic Sea and the large colonies of sand martins that nest on the sandy slopes.

Right on the cliff edge stands a beautifully positioned bench – the location couldn't be better. With its unobstructed view of the sea, it invites you to take a break, enjoy the vastness, and savor the moment – an ideal spot for a relaxing rest.

... in the most wonderful ☔ which also came 2 hours earlier than predicted 😬. Great, the Christmas 🎁🎁 could be inaugurated straight away 😁. But the best thing... today, for the first time ever, I accidentally met 2 other Komootlers, @Jörg K and (@ TS?). What's more, I only became aware of the two of them the day before, …
