Vltava Riverside in Prague

Highlight • River

Prague and its Vltava. There is hardly anything else that shapes the capital of the Czech Republic as much as the river that runs through it. The numerous sights along the shore invite you to visit and linger.
The Vltava is the longest river in the Czech Republic. It originates from the confluence of the Warm Vltava and Cold Vltava in a bog called Mrtvý luh on the southern border of the country. After 430 kilometers, it flows into the Elbe. The name Moldau stands for "wild, raging water". It is often referred to as the "Bohemian Sea". Don't worry, it's usually quite peaceful in Prague.

Today we took the train non-stop from Schwandorf to Prague.
Despite or because of the heat, there were lots of people on the Vltava, so we were only able to push our bikes near the city centre. This made it easier to process the many impressions.

In the late morning we took the Flixbis from DD to Prague, then took a short detour through Prague's city center. Then we cycled along the Vltava to Roztocky in 34 degrees C. Very nice cycle path.
