Reformed Church Veessen

The church was officially consecrated on August 6, 1843.

The new and current baptismal font was put into operation during the 1943 memorial service.

As early as 1436, there was a chapel or branch church of Heerde in Veessen, which was dedicated to Saint Ewoldus. Remarkably, this chapel is repeatedly referred to as the location in the church "Vorachten" in the 15th century.

A pen drawing by Cornelis Pronk from 1735 still exists of the old church.

In 1842, this church was replaced due to dilapidation and lack of space by the current church building, which was built elsewhere.
