Wheathampstead Station

Highlight • Historical Site

Wheathampstead Station was restored to its former glory by a team of volunteers with support from the parish council. It closed in 1965 but its most famous visitor, George Bernard Shaw, made this a landmark worth investing in. He would catch the train into London from here. Since 2016 there is a life size carving of Shaw sitting waiting under the platform shelter.
