Moss-Covered Basalt Field (Moossteinmeer)

Highlight • Natural Monument

In basalt seas/fields or block heaps in summer, the escaping cold air causes the formation of condensation or a low evaporation rate. This allows various types of mosses to grow and spread there.

Seesteine Natural Monument

Highlight • Natural Monument

The natural monument made of basalt rock, which is managed by the Werra Valley Association, is always worth a visit. The narrow, well-groomed paths and the stones themselves transport me to a different, earlier world with every stay.

START Schwalbenthal car park with great views. 👀 . Highly recommend this tour, but with hiking boots. We modified the round slightly.

The P1 is a constant up and down but actually has an interesting route🥰you pass many things worth seeing and above all you often have a magnificent view very far into the country😎a great hike

Today I hiked on the P1, a new project for me "...go Premium Hiking Trails North Hesse"
The path is very well signposted and peppered with many beautiful highlights. I can only recommend studying the information about the highlights from Ms. Holle Land's geo-nature park app, so hiking will be even more fun.
My highlights were the Frau Holle pond …

It's been a long time since I was active on Komoot, unfortunately 😓. But I'm confident and this comeback tour is a real hit! A lot on small paths, with great views, many information boards and special geological highlights. And it was quiet too, it's definitely not like that at the weekend. LG and take the time to walk this …

The P1 is a truly beautiful circular trail with fantastic views of the Kaufungen region. It boasts rustic paths and many beautiful spots, such as the Kitzkammer and Kalbsee lakes.
I've hiked the P1 trails several times before I started using Komoot. I'm always impressed.

On the very beautiful circular route, it goes through forests and meadows past the Frau Holle pond. On the steep path through the sea stones you go right through a sea of blocks.
