Respect for the artist 👍 I have never seen anything like it. From old bottle caps creates a true work of art - without it costs the taxpayer hundreds of thousands of euros. The idea and implementation: very beautiful 👍

Paddle wheel
Artist: Georg Ettl, 1995
"Healing the earth" was the motto of the State Garden Show in Grevenbroich 1995. Ettl's bucket wheel is modeled on the excavator wheel used in lignite mining. Instead of steel shovels, human heads eat their way into the ground to show that humans themselves are massively intervening in nature via the machine. The sculpture “paddle wheel” became the central symbol of the Grevenbroich State Garden Show, which attracted a million visitors. The more than five meter high work of art was extensively restored on the initiative of the tourist association in 2019 with donations and funds.
