The statue of the man standing with the sword is Westerham-born General Kent Wolfe, who died in September 1759 during the Battle of Quebec. The second more recent memorial is that of Sir Winston Churchill.

The walk coming out of Goodley Stock Wood by Squerryes Park towards Westerham is on a beautiful footpath. This fence-bordered trail is super nice, and as you go on, the views of Westerham simply get better. This is quintessential English countryside walking at its best.

Squerryes Park Camp Hillfort

Highlight • Natural Monument

Although it doesn’t seem much as the iron age hill fort is now heavily wooded and difficult to inspect. Briefly in 1961 parts were cleared of trees and an archaeological investigation undertaken. This revealed clearly the construction of the ditches around the site but very few artifacts were found, suggesting that the fort was little used.
