A historic, Grade II* listed glasshouse built in 1820 as the centerpiece of the estate's Italian Garden.

It is widely recognized as the first domestic iron-and-glass conservatory ever built in England, utilizing an innovative cast-iron sub-frame faced with local Ancaster stone.

It still houses camellias dating back to the 1830s alongside lush climbing plants, palms, and shrubs, offering visitors a tranquil, sub-tropical indoor environment.

St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Belton

Highlight • Religious Site

The oldest parts of the west tower date back to around 1200 with later additions from the 14th and early 18th centuries.

From the mid-17th century onward, the church became closely tied to the Brownlow and Cust families who owned Belton House.

The interior holds a large collection of stunning memorials and tombs commemorating generations of the estate's owners, spanning hundreds of years.

The church features medieval and 16th-century stained glass panels (including Netherlandish roundels) and a peal of five restored bells.

View of Boathouse Pond

Highlight • Lake

Built to resemble a Swiss Cottage (c1830s), the boathouse fell into disrepair in the 20th century and was unrestored at the time Historic England's listed building entry was written. Its restoration in 2008, carried out under the auspices of the National Trust, which now owns Belton House, made use of traditional materials and craftsmanship and has won a number of awards. The boathouse is a Grade II listed building.
