Budleigh Salterton Seafront

Highlight • Viewpoint

The lovely flat road to spin along the seafront. A little busy at times but a wide road with mostly slow traffic. Worth a little bustle to enjoy the seaside.

During summer there are vendors selling ice creams and fish and chips on the seafront as well as adorable multi-coloured beach huts.

The beach is pebbled and the sea seems to remain a moody brown colour close to shore with blue further out year round

Orcombe Point and the Geoneedle

Highlight • Viewpoint

Orcombe Point is the most westerly point of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, which stretches from Exmouth to Old Harry Rocks near Swanage in Dorset. It’s a wonderful feeling to know that you are surrounded by rocks that are 185 million years old at this point. If you are hiking the South West Coast Path the usual way, you can now look forward to 95 miles (153 km) of classic hiking along the Jurassic Coast.

Exmouth Beach and Seafront

Highlight • Beach

Exmouth Seafront is a coastal promenade that stretches along the two-mile sandy beach of Exmouth, the oldest seaside resort in Devon. The seafront offers a variety of shops, places to eat and things to do, such as seaside amusements, musical performances, water sports and boat trips. The seafront is also part of the Exe Estuary Trail and the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, which showcase the natural beauty and heritage of the region. You can enjoy stunning views of the sea, the river and the cliffs, as well as watch the wildlife and the sunsets.

Exmouth Beach

Highlight • Natural

Exmouth beach is around 2 miles (3.2 km) long and wonderfully sandy. There's a large tidal range here, so the beach can look completely different depending on what state of the tide you visit at. There are often large sand bars in the estuary as well and the beach is fantastic for swimming. Always look out for the RNLI lifeguarding flags and be careful of strong tides as the water leaves through a narrow channel.
