Lake Kournas is the only natural freshwater lake on the Greek island of Crete. It is located in western Crete, near the north coast, near Georgioupolis. Crete vacation 2023!
Today we went on our first little hike near our accommodation in Georgioupoli, 40 kilometers from Chania! First we went to the town on the beach, then later through huge olive plantations to Lake Kournas, the only freshwater lake in Crete. Unfortunately the weather there wasn't as nice as it was in the morning! It was funny …
