Wadebridge Town Centre

Highlight • Cycleway

Small, picturesque town in north Cornwall. The city lies on the River Camel, at the beginning of the estuary that ultimately flows into the Atlantic.
Definitely worth a detour - easily accessible via the A39.

This section of the Camel Trail between Wadebridge and Padstow is 5.5 miles long and can be ridden in either direction. The views of the Camel Estuary are fantastic.

The trail follows a disused railway line and in it's entirety is 17 miles long from Padstow to Wenfordbridge. It is a shared used path with walkers, cyclists and horse riders and is largely flat.

An Iron Bridge spans the gap over Little Petherick Creek and gives a glimpse into the Camel Trail's past as a railway line.

The railway opened in 1899 with this bridge being the final piece of the puzzle connecting Wadebridge and Padstow. The trail over the bridge has been updated to accommodate cyclists and walkers from its original narrow wooden path.

Boscarne Junction Heritage Railway Station

Highlight • Historical Site

Built during the Victorian era, in the late 19th century, this lovely railway station connected two railways: the Great Western Railway and the Bodmin and Wadebridge Railway. The station ceased to be used in the 1980s but was brought back to life in the 90s, to serve as a heritage station.

Today, you can book a ride on a steam train and take a journey back through history. The Camel Trail passes alongside the junction and the Land's End Trail passes just the other side of the river.
