The Heiterwangersee is the twin lake of the Plansee. There is also a Nordic Walking route right on the lake and it is ideal for ambitious training sessions.

The Heiterwangersee and the Plansee also attract many divers. They appreciate the diverse underwater flora and fauna as well as the good visibility. Diving is only allowed at marked places and only with the purchase of a day pass. However, the Heiterwangersee is freely accessible for bathers.
