Peter Pan

Highlight • MTB Park

Playful like its namesake, the new "Peter Pan" flow trail winds a whopping 395 meters from the Meritz mountain station down to Santel. The trail is part of the “Fai Zone” of the Dolomiti Paganella bike park and easy to reach with the Santel-Meriz chairlift. Speaking of easy: "Peter Pan" is designed as a flow trail and is accordingly built so that both experienced bikers and, above all, beginners can have a lot of fun on it.

Meriz Mountain Restaurant

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The Santel-Meriz cable car belongs to the "Fai Zone" of the Dolomiti Paganella bike park. Some routes start up here at the mountain station, including the new downhill “Peter Pan”. If you want to fortify yourself or refresh yourself in between, you can do so in the mountain restaurant.

The Santel-Meriz mountain railway takes you directly to the modern Rifugio Meriz, which is a perfect starting point for hikes and mountain bike tours. Before or after your hike, you can fortify yourself with fine dishes on the large terrace of the mountain inn and enjoy the view.

Rifugio Dosso Larici

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The Rifugio Dosso Larici looks back on a long history: it was completed in 1930 and at that time served as the mountain station of what was then the highest cable car in Europe. On the sunny terrace you will be pampered with typical home cooking and products from the region. After a long day of hiking, you can spend the night in double rooms or dormitories.

The Adler via ferrata is one of the great highlights on the Paganella. In difficulty level C / D (difficult) it leads through very exposed rock faces, over ladders and over impressive rope bridges - not for the faint of heart. Via ferrata beginners should only undertake the tour with a mountain guide, experienced climbers will love the incredible panorama and the challenging passages.

You could also just concentrate on the via ferrata and take the chairlift up. I made it a nice mountain hike with a decent amount of elevation gain (according to my watch, 1320 meters, Komoot added a few more). It also had the advantage of being completely alone up there before the first chairlift. Although, hiking alone with a headlamp …
