As part of the Bishopric of Würzburg, Eisingen was secularized in favor of Bavaria in 1803, then given to Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany in the Peace of Pressburg (1805) to form the Grand Duchy of Würzburg, with which it finally reverted to Bavaria in 1814.
