Actually, we wanted to let our MTB vacation roll out easily, but the weather was great, we felt fit, so we made our way to Schachen. Since we already knew the tour from last year, we decided this time to go all the way up with the MTB. As expected, it was exhausting and sweaty and we pushed some of …

6th day Mittenwald
The desire to visit the Schachenhaus 🏚️ was so great that we set off with low-hanging clouds ☁️. We chose the coolest day 😕. But with a 1000m climb, you start to feel warm just by looking at the elevation profile 😃
We pass the Lautersee, Ferchensee and over the Bannholzweg and quickly reach the Königsweg. Now …

A scenic tour. From Mittenwald, past beautiful bathing resorts and Ellmau Castle, to the Königspfad (King's Path). This path becomes increasingly steeper towards the end. A particularly technically challenging tour, but it does require some stamina, and the view of the Zugspitze from the top is breathtaking.

The start and finish was the "Porta Claudia." From there, the route continued to Lautersee, then on to Ferchensee, and up to the Wettersteinalm at almost 1,500 meters. The return route passed Elmau Castle and the lakes again. A wonderful loop through a fascinating landscape!

Last day, and I did the Königstour (King's Tour), which was really strenuous, but the view was worth the effort. I don't think I'll get around to it again, but the memory will stay. Thanks Gerhard for the company, until next time.
