Monk's Spring

Highlight • Natural Monument

The spring owes its name to the monks of the former monastery. The water is supposed to be drinkable, but I haven't tried it 😉
The source is definitely worth seeing, as the frame is very nicely designed.

Viewpoint Zum Utkiek

Highlight • Viewpoint

The path to the viewpoint is difficult to find from the north, but it is worth the visit. Up here is a covered rest area and you can wonderfully observe the river valley.

Barrow Graves Information Board

Highlight • Historical Site

There is said to be a burial mound at this point, but unfortunately it is probably not visible due to the high vegetation. The information board is nonetheless interesting and describes the location of other tombs in the area.

October 30, 2022,Franzburg: Hellberge - Schlosskirche - Mönchsquelle
Find the way! 🕵🏼‍♀️ Today's hike through the Franzburger Hellberge turned out to be very adventurous. The path was there, partly marked, partly signposted. But anyway: Find it! 😂 I then orientated myself on the "mown" meadow and on dented blades of grass. So I gradually found my way through this very beautiful and varied landscape 🌳
The Mönchsquelle is …

This tour gets full marks from me.
Franzburg, only 45 minutes from Greifswald.
The route was very relaxing and relaxing, no roads, only field and meadow paths.
On the nature trail you could see who is in charge there. The path was paved with droppings that came from wild rabbits.
And if you don't walk the route clockwise like I …

Today, on a recommendation, we went to the Hellberge Mountains near Franzburg.

The nature trail, through forests, drylands, and wet meadows, was very varied. The burial mounds are probably overgrown, or we didn't see them.

From the Mönchquelle spring, we went to the church, the monastery garden, and the market square.
