Church of San Donato

Highlight • Religious Site

House of prayer that is no longer a house of prayer...
The current building dedicated to San Donato was reused in 1833 using the materials received during the demolition of the original church of the same name, mentioned in a document of the Registrum Comunis Albae (1219).

Beautiful and elegant building decorated by the painter Giuseppe Viglino (1833) , in the 1970s it was sold to the municipality who, after suitable placement, accepted to use it to house the Barbaresco Regionale Enoteca.

There are four rooms in which the building that houses the wine is divided: the central nave, with some boards providing information about the territory to all visitors; the room on the right with the wine display on the ground floor and the secretariat of the institution on the first floor.

On the left, however, is the space for the taste counter, where gourmets can taste the precious wines of the Enoteca. The apse space is executed by a large arrangement with prestigious flexes.
