Excellent route, I've done it several times and it's always impressive. It combines very technical descents, allowing you to enjoy the Vasco-Navarre train route for a while, then a good beer in Maestu to gather strength to climb to Apellaniz, a good climb, and then the summit with a spectacular view on one of the Izki mountains.
