Dream Loop Upper Baybach Valley

Highlight • Trail

Here the Hunsrückhöhenstraße leads over the Baybach.
Instead of choosing the dangerous path on the busy road, you can also go under the bridge next to the Baybach ..
The hiking car park is not far from the bridge.

Highlight • Rest Area

It's a pretty tough climb up to Hoch-Ley, but the view is rewarding. There is also a rest area and a small cupboard that keeps drinks available at a low price in summer.

I kept coming across signs for the “Schessels Beersche” loop on my rounds through the Baybachtal and decided to myself: You should do that too. And then today the time has come. Unfortunately I haven't found this beautiful round on Komoot yet, but I had a brochure and an idea.

Schessels Beersche - the "Bowl Brünnchen" gives the loop into the Baybach valley from Thörlingen its name.

There is even a designated hiking car park, but today I was able to use the only parking space at the church because I had the route to myself.

Recommended! Loop with a length of 5.5 km. Very varied. Demanding ascents and descents. Hiking sticks useful. Very well signposted. Lots of places to rest.

Komoot once again shaved off almost a kilometer for me and, as a thank you, placed my truly "impressive" photo of an empty beer bottle on, or rather, in, an almost dry horse turd 🤷.
How do I know the bottle was empty? Well, I took it with me and threw it in the Strieders Mühle trash can - sorry …

It's hard to believe that I haven't been to Baybachtal for 14 days🤦. What a miss. But now, at the beginning of "full autumn", just before the meteorological start of autumn, it just had to be done. And it was beautiful, as always.
Also as -almost- always: apart from a very nice rider with an equally nice horse and a …

A short hike that offers a lot of variety! I set out without any great expectations, just a short walk with the dog and was pleasantly surprised, sooo beautiful🥰🐕🍂 I'll definitely do it again!
