Wuddy Rocks on St Abb's Head Cliff Path

Highlight (Segment) • Natural Monument

The cliff path from St Abbs village out towards St Abb's Head is brilliant for a run. The scenery is awesome especially if there is a big sea running and you're very likely to see lots of sea birds as well. Run out to the lighthouse and then loop back past Mire Loch. Watch your footing though!

Mire Loch

Highlight • Natural

A long thin loch managed by the National Trust for Scotland as part of the St Abb's Head estate. The loch is formed in the fault line between the hard igneous rock at St Abb's Head and the softer sedimentary rock inland. It was a marshy area, but a small dam created around 1900 held the water back and created the loch. Now it's an important inland bird sanctuary.

Highlight • Natural

The small lake is not directly accessible, but is beautifully situated. We were able to observe a pair of swans here.
