At this point of the lake, there are two bathing jetties, which also offer particularly beautiful views of the lake shore and the surrounding mountains.

Really always nice. And if you're lucky, it's even better without thousands of tourists.

Swan Lake Park

Highlight • Natural

Below the summer residence of King Maximilian II, Hohenschwangau Castle, lies Schwansee Park. Picturesquely framed by the Kalvarienberg and Schwarzenberg mountains, it is now a local recreation area for guests and locals. However, those interested will discover a garden architectural gem that is second to none: the royal castle park of Hohenschwangau.

After Crown Prince Maximilian, later King Maximilian II, completed Hohenschwangau Castle, he acquired land in Rohrachfilz below to create a castle park. The first plans for the park were drawn up in 1837 by the landscape architect Carl August Sckell, whose uncle Ludwig Sckell designed the English Garden in Munich. After Sckell's death, Peter Joseph Lenné took over this work and developed a castle park based on the English model.

If the weather is summery, be sure to pack swimming trunks and a towel, as well as some money for a bag of 🍟 from the kiosk. Hiking and swimming with a view of Neuschwanstein Castle - great!

You're supposed to retighten the nuts after changing the wheel. So just drive a few kilometers. And because there was a light spot in the gray on gray.

Today it was only enough for a small lap, because the thunderstorm reached me faster than I had planned. Still very nice.

Plan B for today, we actually wanted to go to Tegelberg, but there were so many people at the Tegelbergbahn car park that we abandoned the plan.
Instead we went for a walk around Schwansee and had an ice cream at the kiosk, which was also nice! 🤗

The starting point is the parking lot near Alterschrofen. It is located at the end of the town in the direction of Hohenschwangau on the right on Königsstrasse. From here you have different options to design your own route. With wonderful views of the royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau and various Allgäu mountains such as the Tegelberg, the tour …
