Highlight • Cycleway

The bike path is paved here and you can watch the Neckar again and again. There are hardly any inclines.

May 12, 2022,1. Tag: Eberbach - Bad Wimpfen
Our first stage on the Neckar Valley Cycle Path (does not correspond to the official classification) led upstream from Eberbach a.N. to Bad Wimpfen. Very beautiful in terms of landscape and the bike path. We really liked it and, considering the distance, it was sufficient for the first day after arriving in the morning. This part of the Neckar valley …

We started in Bad Friedrichshall in sunny weather and cycled along the Neckar Valley Trail. From Obrigheim the cycle path was closed and we had to continue on the right. The rest of the cycle route went directly along the main road, which of course wasn't great.

In the beautiful weather we cycle down the Neckar to the Guttenbach lock in Neckargerach and back again on the other side of the Neckar. One of the plans was to meet the submarine, which is currently being transported on the Neckar, on the way.

Nice tour. Because of the heat, I drove a few km under the bridge on the right-hand side. The left side of the river is nicer.

Bad Wimpfen has a beautiful old town. It is worth visiting.

On our second day of our bike tour to Mannheim, castles were mostly on the agenda. We started in perfect weather and a brilliant 🌞.
1. Guttenberg Castle with a bird of prey flight show, very impressive and informative.
2. Hornberg Castle with its imposing grounds.
Now the sky was darkening, and at just the right moment, we found shelter …

A weekend trip to the Neckar River in Binau, which was also the starting point of the bike tour. Sometimes closer to the river, sometimes closer to it, we passed castles and castle ruins, with wonderful vistas repeatedly offered, and the view of the Bad Wimpfen skyline (which was the day's destination) promised a lot. So we headed up into …

From Stuttgart we took the train to Friedrichshall and then continued by bike to our starting point in Eberbach a.N.
The weather conditions were ideal. On the "return" we weren't bothered by a stronger or less strong headwind than on the first day. And there was more down the river. A very nice cycling experience. This stage could only get …

From Bad Wimpfen to the Krone in Diedesheim for lunch. Since the bike path was closed down the Neckar between Obrigheim and Guttenbach, we went through the forest. After the break in Zwingenberg on the left side of the Neckar, nice and shady to Eberbach.
