Oberderdingen (until 1964 and still commonly called Derdingen today) is a municipality in Kraichgau, in the northeast of the Karlsruhe district. Oberderdingen is located on the border between Stromberg and Kraichgau, with a significant part of the municipal area belonging to the Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park. The municipal area extends between 154 and 337 meters above sea level. Bretten, Knittlingen, and Eppingen are the nearest towns. The municipality is located about 35 km northeast of Karlsruhe and approx. 40 km west of Heilbronn.

The largest historical ensemble in the historic town center of Oberderdingen is the Amthof with St. Lawrence Church, bell tower, tithe barn, Großer Kelter, administrative building, abbot's chapel, Bandhaus, gatekeeper's house, and Hexenturm.
