Hiking home "Dicke Eiche" (PWV Hauenstein)

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Less than a kilometer from the natural monument Dicke Eiche, lies the hikers' lodge of the same name. Here you can stop for a short break, enjoying a white cheese (Quark) with potatoes and a nice Weissherbst-Schorle.

A fantastic but steep rocky trail west of the Burghalder rocks (Hauensteiner Puppe). This trail is not (yet) on the Komoot map, but there is a signpost at the start.

Nice rest stop on Rimbachsteig or another hike. The host is friendly.

July 20, 2023,🚶🏼‍♀️Burghalder Weg Hauenstein Natalies Style
I modified the tour a little bit at the beginning. I left out the Lanzenfarter Felsen because I don't climb the wobbly ladder anyway. For this I walked the Philosophenweg, which I also like very much. Otherwise everything is the original way.

After a boozy summer night party at Haardter Castle, Sunday was a little shorter...
But at least it was enough to drive to Hauenstein in the afternoon. The Lanzenfahrter Felsen had been on my to-do list for a long time and the first highlight of the Burghalder Weg (we parked at the Wasgau outdoor pool) was quickly reached. The ladder …

On my last day of vacation I needed a nice conclusion 😊 It was supposed to be a round in Hauenstein, my soul flattering tour.🤩. Even the start was great, the Altwiesenpark shone in autumn colors, the reflections were wonderful ☺️. Then we went through the beautiful Queichtal, the wind blew the colorful leaves around our ears, it was so …

Today we go on the beautiful theme trail "Burghalder Weg": suedlicheweinstrasse.de/touren/tour/burghalder-weg/tour.html

Unfortunately, I didn't start until 11 a.m. at the beautiful Hauenstein outdoor pool in the forest, which by then had already been "overrun" by parents and their children. Also on the sunbathing areas and in the water there was a squeaking of joy everywhere - and I would have …

Again in the afternoon we started this hike over the Burghalder-Weg in Hauenstein.
A highlight was definitely the Lanzenfahrer Felsen with its ladder and the great view from the pulpit.

All in all a nice hike. At Paddelweiher Hauenstein we bridged a short but heavy rain shower with a cup of coffee and delicious cake.

We're good at spontaneous hikes, so we decided to head to Häschde on the spur of the moment. The Lanzenfahrter, Burghalder, Wolfsfelsen, and Sattelfelsen are always beautiful to look at. The weather ☀️ was fantastic again, and the trail was beautiful, with a quick pit stop 🍷🍽 in the thick oak tree. A trail we can wholeheartedly recommend.

The hiking season has started again. And we headed towards the southwest of the Palatinate again. We just love being out and about there. As always, it was a great hike.

There was a lot going on at the "Fat Oak", but otherwise we had a lot of peace and quiet in the forest.

If you start running totally unmotivated and within a quarter of an hour the Palatinate Forest conjures up that relaxed permanent smile on your face... then you've done everything right again!
Today it was the Burghalderweg near Hauenstein: Farrenwiese, Burghalder, Lanzenfahrter Felsen, Sattelfelsen, Hasenteller, Wolfsfelsen/Ebenfallen (still standing), Wanderheim Dicke Eiche, Queichquelle, Stephans Towers (camel), Paddleweiher, Farrenwiese.
The sun was beating …
