Highlight • Beach

Beach Green is a well-groomed grassy lawn shaded by elegant palm trees with picnic tables along the promenade and bike path, with great ocean views on Venice Beach. The street artists and lively scene at the promenade is just a few steps away, but this little park is usually a welcome oasis of quiet in all the bustle nearby.

The Beach bike trail winds its way through the one of California's most well known amusement parks: Santa Monica Pier is one of the biggest attractions and the landmark of the California city of Santa Monica. It starts from Colorado Avenue and stretches across the public Santa Monica State Beach into the Pacific Ocean. At the same time it forms the terminus of the famous Route 66, which originates in Chicago and winds through the western desert heartland to end in what at the time was the incarnation of the American dreamland.

Venice Canals

Highlight • Structure

Some romantic bridges and footpaths worth pushing your bike along or seeing from the road bridges. The canals were fashioned be early real estate developers to evoke the town's Italian namesake. Landfill and houses now mostly cover the previously larger lagoon. Some canals were later filled in as owners wanted to reach their houses by automobile.

December 4, 2024,Pier to Pier
Relaxed tour along the Pacific coast. From Topanga Canyon to Venice. One of my friends was a bit slow, so the rest of us did the round trip twice. We had delicious pier burgers at the Santa Monica Pier

A bike ride on the beach in Los Angeles. Sun, sand, sea and and a great view.

Showing Translation

We rented good GIANT City Bikes and "experienced" part of the great 22 Miles bike path from Malibu to Redondo Beach! The weather and the whole atmosphere on the beach were amazing.
