The Lontzkedüne (Polish: Wydma Łącka) is the largest shifting dune on the Pomeranian Baltic coast. It has the shape of a sickle or a crescent moon and is part of the dune area, which covers an area of approximately 500 hectares. The natural dune lies on the 17 km long spit between the Lebasee and the Baltic Sea. It is between 30 and 42 meters high, about 1300 meters long and 500 meters wide and moves about 12 meters a year to the east due to the prevailing westerly winds. It buries the original landscape, forest and moor under itself. Łączka was buried by the dune in the past. Started the day very chilled today. Breakfast in the Schloßgarten and then via E-shuttle to the National Park. There I switched to another E-shuttle and let myself be driven to the dune. But then continued on foot. Very impressive landscape. Doesn't come across so well in the pictures.
