Edmonthorpe Drift

Highlight • Trail

A lovey quiet lane with gates at both ends, to keep the livestock from wandering off, contributing to only occasional traffic.

An absolute pleasure to return here!
Plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Also, many places to leave your bike in sight from the cafe.
Staff is always pleasant friendly and helpful.
The menu is classic but very good value and staff are knowledgeable and very happy to adapt stuff for dietary requirements. The food came quickly even on a busy day and was fresh and tasty.
Beautiful location too!

The Bull Climb

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

Part of a local clubs time trial course. The Bull Climb is an enjoyable climb, made better by a decent surface. The village shop at the top serves good sandwiches and cakes too, with a bench opposite for a picnic seat. A great place to reward yourself for the effort.

Barnsdale Gardens

Highlight • Rest Area

Visit for several reasons. Good cafe with nice food and cakes. Plenty of tables inside and outside in the garden. My pictures of outside tables are not very good it's much nicer than they show. Excellent toilets and bike parking. All this before entering the gardens and paying. But it's also worth visiting the gardens many of which have featured on the BBC.

Stamford Historic Town Centre

Highlight • Settlement

The historic Lincolnshire town of Stamford's old timber-framed houses and charming limestone buildings stand proud on the banks of the River Welland. It's situated where the counties of Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Rutland meet and it is the end point of the Jurassic Way long-distance trail.

The nearby Burghley House and grounds – designed by the famous Capability Brown – make for an interesting day out, while a walk along the river and up to the village of Easton on the Hill is also gorgeous.
