Stolberg Town Hall

Highlight • Historical Site

The town hall from 1454 is an architectural curiosity because it has no staircase. Access to the upper floors is only possible via an external staircase, which also leads up to the late Gothic St. Martini Church.

A wonderful combination of hiking, history, and enjoyment—with the Joseph's Cross, the idyllic half-timbered houses of Stolberg, the Luther Beech, and several opportunities for refreshment, this trail is highly recommended. 🍺🌲🏰

To conclude my short holiday in the Harz, I went to Stolberg today. First, I walked through the delightful little town, and then I went to the Josephskreuz. I dared to go up onto the platform, which took quite a bit of courage.

An easy hike with a highlight. Actually two highlights, because the whole of Stolberg itself is a highlight in itself. The Josephskreuz is impressive - definitely do it. There are numerous hikes

After yesterday's quite exhausting (but so mega beautiful) tour, today should be a comfortable round. One or the other would certainly have allowed themselves some rest after a 50km march, but such an easy little tour suits me much better.

Happy Sunday everyone, LG!

I had to step on the gas a bit because I forgot my winter jacket at home, I only had my thin cycling jacket with me. And we had -2 degrees 🥶

A beautiful, if at times strenuous, round. 500 m before the cross, the thunderstorm had us in its stranglehold. The only downside was the poor visibility due to the weather. Otherwise, a great afternoon. And for me, Stolberg is the best place in the Harz anyway.

The destination of today's hike was a city that we only know from driving through and visiting a swimming pool xx years ago. The basic conditions were negotiated: no visit to the castle, just a bit of walking on the pavement and the tour could be a little longer. So I incorporated the two stamp offices in the area into …
