The National Park Visitor Centre or โ€˜Mountain Centreโ€™ is located 7km south west of Brecon and is one of the most popular visitor attractions in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The Centre stands 1100ft (330m) above sea level and offers stunning views of the highest mountains (Pen y Fan and Corn Du) in South Wales.

The visiting centre offers many of fantastic opportunities and plenty of valid information for all moderate terrain on walking in the Brecon Beacons, taking in spectacular views of the Central Beacons. Most popular walked is just across the Common, over to the summit of Twyn Y Gaer, the site of an Iron Age hill fort site! Another beaut where here you can take in 360 degree views of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains.
Amazing facilities to cater for all, Toilets, information desk, an amazing Gift and Craft Shop! With a licenced cafe below that has an incredible large outdoor terrace. A large childrenโ€™s play area Plenty of picnic benches, All with the most fabulous view of Pen Y Fan.

This location has fine views, and more importantly, you are able to park on common land here, just off the unclassified road that runs over this high mountain plateau. It is a very popular beauty and picnic spot. There are beautiful walks in the area, and it is a really family-friendly area. Nearby is the Iron Age Hillfort of Twyn y Gaer, and all around you have beautiful views of the central fans of the Brecon Beacons.
