Nice new concrete bike path. Nice piece of (new) nature! But take it easy with oncoming traffic!

De Binnengait Rest Stop

Highlight • Rest Area

On the spot where the old Hessen road from Oldenzaal to Deventer crosses the river Regge, the skippers inn "de Binnengait" was built at the end of the 17th century. The Regge was the artery of the Twente waterway network and in 1751 the inn was expanded with a (now rare) longitudinal drive shed where summer pens and carts were unloaded and the goods were stored or transferred.

For many decades, the Binnengait was of great importance to the economic and social life of the people of Enters and many Twente residents. Ships are no longer unloaded, but after almost three centuries it is still good sailing, cycling and staying on the banks of the Regge.

Nice place to have a coffee and visit the toilet. Completely self-service

You can't really see it in the photo, but you do go up a bit. A nice start for the Markeloseberg

Markeloseberg Climb

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

The 'Markeloseberg' is a great example of Dutch mountaineering. The berg (mountain) is barely a hill, but since it's one of the few in the region, it draws loads of cyclists. Just to get a nice different view over the area (Markelo has this nice old windmill for instance) but also to challenge your friends in a sprint dual to the top.
