Waterville Seafront Promenade

Highlight • Beach

A seafront village with outstanding coastal views. Waterville has plenty of places to eat and drink if you need to refuel. It's the only seaside village on the Ring of Kerry so is definitely worth a stop.

At this point of the Kerry Way, you cycle along a picturesque, centuries-old country lane, tightly bordered by characteristic stone walls. These historic paths connect the rolling mountainsides with the lower coastline of Caherdaniel. It's a photogenic slice of authentic Ireland where rugged nature and traditional farmland blend seamlessly.

A wonderful section of the long-distance hiking trail "The Kerry Way" across a cow pasture above the coast with excellent views.
For a beautiful circuit of around 13 km from Caherdaniel, it can be easily combined with the hiking trail along the coast (Derrynane Beach Track) past Derrynane National Historic Park.

Derrynane Beach

Highlight • Beach

Derrynane Beach is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful beaches in Ireland. Even if you can only splash around in the Atlantic in midsummer, a visit is worthwhile at any time of the year. Whether you are building sandcastles with your children, going for a walk by the water or just lying in the sand - the beach fulfills all your wishes.
