Slate Wall Passage at Elterwater Slate Quarry

Highlight • Trail

A place where you can reenact the scene from Return of the King when Aragon has to journey down the Path of the Dead.

Lingmoor Fell summit

Highlight • Natural Monument

Lingmoor Fell (Brown How summit) is a 1,540-foot (469 m) Wainwright Fell in the Lake District National Park. I've hiked it 'up the wall' from the north-west and also from the winding trails to the south-east from Little Langdale. It's a great little fell with really impressive views of the Langdale Pikes and a stunning quintessentially English dry stone wall which runs across its length.

Side Pike

Highlight • Summit

It says this is an easy walk in komoot. This is totally wrong. You need mountain experience and equipment. Nothing for a family afternoon walk.

The Wainwright's Inn

Highlight • Pub

The Wainwrights Inn was once a farm. Now you can eat, drink and stay overnight. The inn is on the Cumbria Way and is popular with walkers. Muddy boots and dogs are no problem.
