My first thought was: “Like in Sweden!” The dam often looks like a natural lake.

From this small hill you have a wonderful panoramic view of the heathland.

Very beautiful heathland. The southern part urgently needs to be cleared of bushes, otherwise the heathland will become forest.

Wooden Bridge Over the Thülsfelder Talsperre

Highlight (Segment) • Bridge

A very nice, narrow wooden bridge that leads over one arm of the dam. There are very exciting photo opportunities to the left and right of the bridge.

Something northwest of Cloppenburg lies this worth-seeing reservoir.
It is embedded in a recreational area, which largely consists of heathland, meadows, fields and forest.

I particularly liked the part covered with heather.
A trip and a hike are definitely worth it 😊

Water, water...pure sunshine, leaves and blossoms...dry heather and cranberries, sheepfolds...always a beautiful spot for hiking.

We avoided the rain today and hiked around the Thülsfelder Dam.
It was a fantastic hike with diverse vegetation, heathland, moorland, forest, and water.
We had great weather with sunshine and wind—but no rain.

There is still about 1km left on my tour because I unfortunately started recording too late.

Today number 4/10 of the Iron Lake Challenge Lower Saxony.
For me the most beautiful circuit so far. Varied and no roads. Very close to the lake. Really beautiful. Again no parking fees.

On the way back to our old homeland, we always like to stop at the Thülsfelder Dam to stretch our legs and because the dam has something to offer in every season.

So yesterday we were able to enjoy the loud spectacle of the geese and ducks😀 while we enjoyed the cold, sunny air🤩.

Today we had planned a visit to my family in Papenburg and we thought: Why don't we stop at the Thülsfeld dam on the way? 😀

Thought done 😉! Since I haven't been there for ages, we always drive the main road anyway and the dam is right on the way, we drove straight to a parking lot there 😀 …
