The most famous resident of Sherwood Forest these days is the iconic Major Oak, an ancient giant and the biggest oak tree in Britain. There are loads of gravel trails in the forest, perfect for exploring on bike.

Hardpacked section of flat cycle trail running through the forest at the edge edge of Clumber Park. The trail joins up the NCN6 with the NCN647. Can get a bit muddy in winter so it's not always suitable for nikes wit skinny tyres but generally ok in Summer.

This is a lovely section of the Robin Hood way from Creswell Crags to Clumber Park. It crosses betwen Gouldsmeadow and Shrubbery Lake and offers plenty of scenery including lakes, meadows and tree lined avenues.
