Rakotz Bridge (Devil's Bridge)

Highlight • Bridge

Between Azalea and Rhododendron Park you will find one of the most bizarre bridges in the world. If you ask locals for the bridge, they sometimes look questionable. In the vernacular, it is often referred to as the Devil's Bridge. Namely, especially at sunset, it receives a devilishly red color. Devilishly beautiful.

Great view of the lake and the Rakotz Bridge! Especially when there is no wind, the bridge is best reflected on the smooth water!

Pentecost and vacation. I had the brilliant idea to stay with my son in Dresden to see the Rakotzbrücke during the rhododendron bloom. It had been a big wish for years and it's not that far from Dresden.
I had expected some people for Pentecost, but not such a full parking lot and crowd, hustle and bustle and noise 😲😱 …

Nice park. Unfortunately, the bridge is a totally overrated tourist attraction that, from close up, has been reminiscent of a Disney setting since the renovation.

Today's itinerary began with a hike through the Kromlau Rhododendron Park, with its famous Rakotz Bridge and Rakotz Lake. One of my must-sees for this vacation. Afterwards, we went to the Muskau Park, a World Heritage Site. Another vacation highlight.

I've wanted to come here for a long time..... and yes, it was really worth it🥰 . The park is like a small fairytale forest and around the bridge you have the feeling of being in Lord of the Rings...a must-see

The bridge is certainly the highlight of this park as a photo opportunity, and you can discover it again and again in many different corners. But the entire park is also worth seeing. It's most beautiful during the blossoming season, of course, but also now in autumn.

This trip to Kromlau was long awaited 🤩. Thanks @HzP I. for the inspiration for this! I first saw the Rakotzbrücke in 2021 on one of your tours.
It really is a very nice, well-kept park. I will surely come back sometime. ☺️🍁🍂🍁
