Visegrád is one of Hungary's most historic and picturesque destinations. Located on the famous Danube Bend, about 40 kilometers north of Budapest, the town combines dramatic landscapes with the royal splendor of centuries past.

Here's a brief overview of what makes Visegrád so special:

Fellegvár Castle: The town's landmark sits high atop a hill. From here, you have arguably the most spectacular view of the Danube Bend. Today, the castle houses exhibitions of medieval weapons and replicas of the Hungarian Crown Jewels.

The Royal Palace: Built in the 14th century under King Charles Robert and expanded into a magnificent Renaissance residence under Matthias Corvinus, it lay buried under mud and earth for a long time until it was rediscovered and partially reconstructed in the 20th century. The Hercules Fountain is particularly worth seeing.

Solomon's Tower: A massive, hexagonal residential tower from the 13th century, which was part of the lower defense system. Today it is a museum and venue for medieval games.
