September 12, 2023,Tour vom Rifflsee zum Plodersee und über den Fuldaer Höhenweg zurück
The route leads from the Mandarfen Rifflseebahn train station first along the Rifflsee - the highest raft trip in Europe - then over the Riffbach Bridge and through the high valley near the Rifflsee to the Offenbacher Höhenweg fork and past the Plodersee back. The way out is very beautiful, not too steep, with fascinating views, along a waterfall that …

Today we wanted to go for a more leisurely hike. Yesterday's descent was still quite tiring for us 😉
As we also wanted to visit the Rifflsee, we decided to do this tour. From Mandarfen, the path led us through the beautiful Hirschtal up to the Rifflsee. On the right hand side we walked along the lake and then followed …

gps Montana: walking time: 3.44h, km: 10,926. It's raining when we arrive for today's hike. It should be a hiking day with all the freak weather. The nice thing about the hike, the mountains are visible all day long.

What nature, the madness ❤️❤️❤️
It was exhausting, but the view of the mountains makes up for it 🥰

Had another fantastic tour today. The journey to the Riffelsee valley station by bike. From there take the train to the mountain station, at the top with a beautiful view of the Riffelsee. Behind the lake we went over hill and dale (and rocks) along the Offenbacher Höhenweg, always along streams and waterfalls. At times it was so loud that …

Very nice and varied round.
Conditionally demanding and sometimes very narrow paths. Sure-footedness required, a lot of stones and rubble.
Waterproof shoes recommended.
The direction of the Ploder descent is recommended as the way back, as it is less steep.

It should not have rained the day before, otherwise there is a risk of slipping on the slope.

Unfortunately I started recording too late...but it was beautiful, just running freely.

Today our bus went to the end of the Pitztal.
With the cable car it was about 15 minutes up to the Riffelsee. The lake is fed by the glacier. The Riffelbach fills the lake and is immediately discharged again on the other side. So the lake always has cold water.
