Hopffeldboden Car Park

Highlight • Parking

The large car park is the starting point for all hikes in the Obersulzbach valley and the starting point for the difficult mountain tours on the Großvenediger, Großer Geiger and other peaks of the Hohe Tauern National Park. It is protected from grazing cattle, but has its price:
1 day costs 4 €
from 2 days 8 €
IMPORTANT!!! The machine only eats COINS and no notes. Take it as enough change.
From here you can also use the Venice taxi. It runs every 1 1/2 hours and costs € 14 when it gets full. But at least € 70 in total, and goes to the material cable car of the Kürsingerhütte in the valley below.

Obersulzbach Suspension Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

The steel suspension bridge with a span of 60 meters guides the newly created Venedigerweg over the Obersulzbach.
In just over an hour, families can experience the adventure hiking trail with several attractions for children, children's pastures to rest and play and a unique view of the Great Violinist in the background. Then the path continues further down the valley past the Postalm and the Kürsingerhütte. This is the starting point for climbing the Großvenediger.

Seebach Waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

The Seebachfall is a veil waterfall and very nice to look at. The water falls more than 300 meters from the Seebachsee into the valley. It's especially spectacular in spring when the snow melts. You can hike up to the lake.

Berndlalm Mountain Inn

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The Almgasthof Berndlalm is located at 1514 m above sea level in the Obersulzbach valley in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park - or in other words in the ascent valley to Salzburg's highest peak, the wonderful Großvenediger (3,674 m).
The Berndlalm is a real family business. It is a popular meeting place for locals and guests and is known for its excellent cuisine. Products from the region are mainly used to prepare the dishes.

Glacial Potholes

Highlight • Natural Monument

Glacial pots are formed by melt water that flows through the crevasses and in particular glacier mills to the glacier bed. This melt water combines to form streams and forms vortices at certain points. Flow speeds of up to 200 km / h and high pressure prevail in these vortices. The main erosion work with hollowing out the bed of rock is carried out by the sand and gravel particles carried along.

Here you can get free electricity for your e-bike against a stop. Chargers for Yamaha and Bosch are available. The electricity for the e-bikes is generated by water power (waterfall) just opposite the Alm.

Postalm

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Located in the dreamy Obersulzbach valley in the area of the Hohe Tauern, the Postalm (1,700 m) presents itself as a modern, self-sufficient shelter with triple climate: active award for the shelter's energy concept, for environmentally friendly mobility and for the Postalm's energy trail as a partner of the national park Hohe Tauern. Five energy systems are clearly explained: hydropower, thermal solar area, photovoltaics, hydrogen electrolysis and biogas. The rustic and traditional atmosphere of the hut invites you to linger and in the middle of the three thousand meter peaks of the Salzburg Venediger Group, it is an important base for hikers, mountain bikers, ski tourers and nature lovers.
The Postalm has been family-owned for five generations and has been continuously modernized and enlarged since it was rebuilt in 1928. A specially built hydropower plant, a solar system on the roof, a biological sewage treatment plant and the nearby drinking water source enable environmentally friendly operation.

The Pichler family offers heated single and double rooms between mountain lakes and three-thousanders. Two infrared sauna cabins, in-house library and a drying room complete the offer.

The menu spoils with home-made bread, homemade strudels and down-to-earth dishes. Bringing dogs is not welcome.
Women's and men's washrooms with hot water and showers are available to all overnight guests. Cell phone reception depends on the provider. There is a charging station on the Postalm for all e-bike drivers.
