The Reschbach was straightened and expanded for the Holztrift. The beaver is currently renaturing the Reschbach below the Reschbachklause by creating dams and dams the Reschbach to small lakes and a swamp area.

Wet and cold, but still beautiful! The Reschbach Valley is very idyllic. Of course, there was no view from the Siebensteinkopf today, but that was already clear. The Finsterauer Moor is worth a visit.

A varied circular hike through an idyllic forest and natural landscape on beautiful forest paths and rustic, rooty, stony paths with moderate elevation differences up and down with wonderful views of the surrounding landscape, but above all from the Siebensteinkopf and from Bucina on the Czech side.

Very nice hike over great forest paths to the Siebensteinkopf.

After working at Café Wistleberg for the last week or so, I felt that we should do a hike around here. It was a lovely hike, great weather once you were above Mauth, with sunshine and blue skies. However there was a good frost today and temperatures were only just hovering above 1 or 2c. We loved the beautiful lake …
A very varied hike with beautiful and less beautiful impressions.
We started at the open-air museum (parking is free) and then hiked via Reschbach, Rechbachklause to the Siebenkopfstein. Afterwards a short detour to Buĉina. A part of the Iron Curtain is recreated there. A crazy place. Then we went back to the starting point via the Finsterauer Filz.

After all the rain the last few days, we finally got some sunshine ☀️ and it was still 14 degrees Celsius.
The walk (from the campsite) is very varied and leads first through the Finsterauer Filz with a newly constructed wooden footbridge, a path along the stream to the Teufelsbachklause (Devil's Bach Gorge) and the Czech border crossing, up to …

The Lower Bavarian Forest didn't let us go today either. This is a small weekend series where we chose hiking destinations in the area.

Today I went with my wife @Hanna-Lea and my eldest @Weinbergschnecke from Finsterau to the Reschbachklause; to the Siebensteinkopf and then to the Teufelsbachklause.
