Paper mill on the Wohra

Highlight • Historical Site

The paper mill!
Originally equipped with two grinding gears and one beating gear, the "New Mill" on the Wohra, mentioned in the 17th century, was converted into a paper mill in 1788. The building burned down in 1945, and after reconstruction it continued to produce for another 21 years before the mill became the property of the town of Kirchhain and was temporarily used as a youth center. The graffiti on the outside wall still bears witness to this today. In 2002, the ADK took over the use of the building for cultural and environmentally critical events.

Kirchhain Town Hall and Market Square

Highlight • Historical Site

Kirchhain has a picturesque marketplace with a beautiful half-timbered ensemble. It is a traditional market and trading town and therefore the weekly markets take place here regularly on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The annual Easter, Martins and Advent markets are definitely worth a visit. You can find more information here: kirchhain.de/Leben-Wohnen/Unsere-Stadt/M%C3%A4rkte.
