Shannon Falls Recreation Area

A wooded area with toilets and picnic benches which is close to both the Shannon Falls parking lot and the falls themselves.

With an impressive 335 meters, Shannon Falls are the third highest waterfalls in British Columbia. Shannon Creek cascades into the depths. The main fall alone, which you can see here from the viewing platform, has a height of 198 meters. Tragically, three people lost their lives in 2018 because they underestimated the power of the water and were swept down by it.

Sea to Summit trailhead

Highlight • Trail

This spot marks the beginning of the Sea to Summit trail, brilliant one way hike with incredible views over the Howe Sound and Sky Pilot Mountain. Allow 3-5 hours to get to the Summit Lodge at the top, where you can enjoy food and drink with fantastic views. You can buy a 'download' ticket at the lodge and enjoy a gondola ride back down to the trailhead.
