Sołtys Family Homestead Museum

Highlight • Historical Site

The Sołtys homestead was built in 1861 by the great-grandfather of the last owner, Jakub Sołtys. The house was inherited by successive descendants of this family. After World War II, part of the family moved to a new house. The old homestead was purchased in 1982 by the Tatra Museum for the purpose of an ethnographic exhibition. In contrast to the wealthy homestead of the Korkosz family in Czarna Góra, the house and farm buildings of the village administrators are an example of a poor Spisz farm from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Right next to the museum there is an old fire station with an inscription in Slovak.
