Highlight • Mountain Hut

The hut below the Säuling on the Austrian side. We stopped there for an hour or two after descending. Very nice owners and very nice view. Tuesday is a rest day.

Top secured passage, which can be easily mastered with large strides. When wet, the rocks can be a little slippery.

A highlight for me. Better than the climb on the other side, as there are hardly any gravel paths.

September 2, 2023,Aufstieg auf den Säuling 👍🏼🥾⛰️☀️😉
From the Austrian side we climbed to the Säuling ☀️😉

It was strenuous up to the Säulinghaus, but just a normal mountain hike 👌🏼

From the Säulinghaus to the summit it was a climb similar to a via ferrata - an absolute challenge for me 😱

But... we were rewarded with a wonderful summit experience 👍🏼⛰️😊

Nice tour to the Säuling. Tour from Pflach in Austria. Säulinghaus car park. Parking free, like most of my tours. From Hochenschwangau is also possible. Tour is about 4 km longer. Parking fee 10 € if there is still something free. However, no fun from here. You have to fight your way through the tourists. Some places on the way …

Today on November 1st, 2024 in wonderful autumn weather 🌞 we did a great tour up the baby 🏔️. I have to say, yes, the baby 🏔️ has something. Well, at least after the baby house, it goes quite up, on sections secured with ropes and later back down again. The view of the Lech Valley 🌊🇦🇹 is gigantic and …

Brutally awesome tour on the Säuling! It started at 5 a.m. in order to have the best possible snow conditions in the steep sections. Up to the via ferrata and beyond, you can do without crampons. But below the Gamswiese it is actually essential to buckle the irons. Pimple is not a must, but just better 😁 We had a …

I've already been to the Säuling but I hadn't seen the newly erected cross before.
It's quite impressive 🙌🏼

Climbed from Plach, there was some snow up to the Säulingshaus (currently closed).
Climb to the shoulder completely snow-free, from there about 5 cm of snow. No problem on the way up, crampons were helpful on the way down as the …

The Säuling, a peak that has accompanied me since I came to the Allgäu 32 years ago and has been my focus for "conquering" for 10 years. Various reports from "it's really easy" to "it's really dangerous" coupled with many reports of fatal falls made me increasingly uncertain whether I should really dare to climb. Well, I dared to do …
