The hiking trail in Berchtesgaden National Park leads through one of Germany's most pristine high mountain landscapes. The National Park was founded in 1978 and covers around 210 km². Its guiding principle is: „Let nature be nature.“ The aim is for forests, alpine meadows, and rocky landscapes to develop as naturally as possible without human intervention.
Well-marked hiking trails run around the Jenner mountain, leading through blooming alpine meadows, light mountain forests, and rocky high mountains. Along the way, you will repeatedly be rewarded with impressive views of the Königssee lake, the Watzmann mountain, the Hoher Göll, and the Steinerne Meer.
With a bit of luck, you can observe animals such as chamois, marmots, golden eagles, or alpine choughs on the trails. In early summer, alpine roses and gentians bloom, while autumn is characterized by brightly colored larches and particularly clear long-distance views.
Among the most popular tours are:
Jenner mountain station – Carl-von-Stahl-Haus
Jenner mountain station – Schneibsteinhaus
Circular route via Königsblick
Ascent to Schneibstein (2,276 m)
To protect the sensitive nature, hikers should stay on the marked trails, leave no trash behind, and not disturb wild animals. This will ensure that the unique landscape of Germany's only Alpine National Park is preserved for future generations.

It's worth taking a short break here on the way to the Jenner summit. The view of the Berchtesgaden Alps and the national park is a dream and the bench in the immediate vicinity invites you to enjoy it.

Please note that this bike/MTB highlight is off the official cycle path network. In the national park, cycling is only permitted on the paths that have been approved for this purpose, in order to protect the sensitive habitats of animals and plants and to avoid conflicts between user groups. Therefore I ask you to explore this highlight only on foot.

Currently, according to the 1992 regulation and the 2012 amendment, cycling is only allowed on the following roads:
1. Hirschbichlstraße (state road 2099) and from the Bindalm bus stop to the alpine huts on the Bindalm;
2. Eiskar forest road to the fork in the path to the Schartennalm;
3. Eckau-Forststraße to Eckau-Alm with turnoff to the Schwarzederer-Wendeplatte;
4. Schappachstraße and Hammerstielstraße to Kühroint - turning point in front of the Archenkanzel - and forest road to Herrenroint;
5. Gotzenstraße and Hochbahnweg to Gotzenalm and access to the Stahlhaus;
6. Ligeretstrasse.

The supplement to approved cycle paths from 2012 is in the Official Journal for the district of Berchtesgadener Land No. 20 from 05/15/2012 on page 127ff. (lra-bgl.de/t/das-landratsamt/amtsblaetter/). The ordinance is based on Art. 31 Para. 1 and Art. 43 Para. 2 No. 3 of the Bavarian Nature Conservation Act (BayNatSchG).

We would be very grateful for your help to protect nature!

August 3, 2021,Schöner Wanderweg – toller Ausblick 🤙😎 Runde von Jenneralm
On the second day of your vacation in Berchtesgaden Land, the first challenge: with the Jennerbahn at 1,800 meters (riding a cable car is nothing for my wife ...) Up to the summit cross with what feels like 150 others ... and then a nice round below the mountain station . It made you sweat quite a bit ... 🥵🥵

Excursion from Salzburg with the 840 bus directly to the Jennerbahn. A day ticket costs about €13 for adults...
You can buy tickets for the Jennerbahn online using a QR code and save €8 per person. Instead of €45, adults pay €41 (for both mountain stations).
You can also walk along the beautiful paths. Non-slip shoes are very helpful. The …
