Highlight • Restaurant

Röttingen is rather manageable. The Bürgerstuben restaurant has excellent food.

Röttingen Market Square

Highlight • Settlement

Great city with lots of charm. There are sundials on every corner, a Kneipp facility by the cemetery and delicious food right on the market square. 😊👍

Röttingen Town Hall

Highlight • Historical Site

In the place of the current town hall there was an older building with a flight of stairs and pillory. It had to be canceled in March 1750 because it was dilapidated. The new town hall is a three-storey building with six window axes in the main view and a mansard roof, in the middle of which the clock tower covered with a dome rises. The facades are structured by cornices, the windows are provided with profile frames. The gargoyles with their pretty silhouette stand out on the two roof corners facing the market square.
The wide, arched portal on the ground floor is impressive, crowned with the coat of arms of Prince-Bishop Karl Philipp von Greiffenclau (1749 - 1754). Two smaller coats of arms lean towards the middle with a sweeping motion. On the left, with the horse's head, the coat of arms of the Barons von Zobel, who often provided the officials in Röttingen, and on the right the city coat of arms of Röttingen.

Gaubahn Rail Trail

Highlight • Cycleway

The Gaubahn Cycle Path is an approximately 37-kilometer-long cycle path in Tauber-Franconia. About 26 kilometers of this runs along the route of the former Gaubahn. It connects the Main Cycle Path near Ochsenfurt with the Tauber Valley Cycle Path near Bieberehren.

Between 1907 and 1992, until its closure, the Gaubahn connected the Tauber and Main valleys. The last passenger train ran on the line on May 3, 1992. Dismantling of the tracks began in 1994, before the expansion of the cycle path began in 1996. Between 2010 (Acholshausen – Baldersheim) and 2011 (Ochsenfurt – Acholshausen and Baldersheim – Bieberehren), the former track bed was paved.

Wayside chapel built in 1752 with a statue of the scourged Savior. In the immediate vicinity there is a really old wayside shrine from 1642 with a crucifixion scene in the top.
