Tegelbergsteig Via Ferrata

Highlight • Climb

The via ferrata falls into category C. It's very varied, with great highlights such as a small bell to ring along the trail, as well as wooden ladders, footholds, and even steel cables for climbing. The tour begins with a vertical ladder leading upwards. Then a somewhat more difficult section follows. There, you can decide whether to continue climbing or turn back. There are two or three more such difficult sections on the Tegelberg via ferrata. Truly beautiful 😍 and recommended for anyone who enjoys climbing. Not for beginners, though!

Gelbe Wand via ferrata

Highlight • Climb

Rightly designated as a practice route for beginners ("educational trail") (graded A throughout). Essentially not a proper via ferrata, but rather a steep climb with secured sections. But it's fun, with its variety and beautiful views of Lake Forggensee and Füssen. It's ideal for practicing using a via ferrata set and is also suitable for children and families. Even slower rope teams don't have to worry – there are opportunities to let faster climbers pass almost everywhere.

Tegelbergsteig Via Ferrata

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

A relatively long and therefore somewhat strenuous climb with difficulty levels up to C. Mostly B or B/C, with category C in several flat sections. Very popular and therefore also scaled down in some sections. A nice entry point is provided via the ladder that branches off from the Gelbe Wand trail. In good weather, you'll need to allow plenty of time due to the crowds and the associated waiting times (in our case, the entire tour from the valley station to the summit station took six hours).

Great hiking trail from the Tegelbahn valley station to the Rohrkopfhütte and even further. Gravel, stone and root path. If you don't want to walk the loops, you can shorten them at any time. Over cow pastures 🐂🐄 and along the Rautbach beautifully 🤗
