Since 1758, the Catholic parish has shared the place of worship with the Protestant community.
In 1891 the priest François Jaggy started a fundraising to be able to finance the construction of a Catholic building. In 1899, the priest Alphonse Ludwig, successor of François Jaggy, bought the Binder castle to build the religious building there. From 1902, the castle served as a presbytery for the Catholic parish. At the end of March 1908, the work began according to the plans drawn up by Bruno Syeller. This one opts for the neoclassical style, perhaps to conform to the architecture of the castle. The first stone, still visible to this day, was laid on July 5, 1908. In 1909, the Catholic community moved into the new building and the simultaneum was officially raised. The inauguration took place on May 31, 1910 by Bishop Zorn von Bulach.
Exterior renovations were carried out on November 4, 2009 by architect Haibach from Niederbronn.

This bunker, still in excellent condition, is nevertheless the most heavily bombed fortress on the Maginot Line. Today, it is possible to visit it and enter the interior of this military structure.
