The Gerhartl refuge is the ideal destination for family hikes. It is located at the upper end of the 1 km long and up to 60 meter deep Johannesbach Gorge, in which the Johannesbach Gorge Cave and the Klammwirt Cave are also located along the child-friendly path. Landlord Johann guarantees that "everyone will find something on the menu that they particularly like!" Younger guests like to romp around in the playground in front of the hut, which can be reached from the car park at the end of Klammgasse in Würflach via the gorge in 20 minutes.

The Johannesbachklamm is a popular excursion destination on the western edge of Würflach and only an hour from Vienna. On the way through the gorge, which is just over a kilometer long, visitors experience a small natural paradise that is pleasantly cool even on hot days.
