Church of Santa Maria and Saint Nicholas (Calella)

The Church of Santa María and San Nicolás is a parish church in the city of Calella and is dedicated to the Assumption and San Nicolás de Bari and is in neoclassical style. It was built in 1747 and expanded in 1785. It preserves the old building from 1543-64 (it was consecrated this last year), collapsed as a result of the fall of the bell tower. The current temple was designed by Josep Morató in 1747. After the total destruction and burning of the interior in 1936, it was rebuilt in 1939 and, finally, on September 23, 1951, the completely rebuilt temple was inaugurated. It is a work of the municipality of Calella (Barcelona) included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.

Today we went on a mountain hike. On the way back we passed a palm garden.
From Sant Pol de Mar we went back to Calella.
After that we were ready for the sea 🏝
